It's the second time she's had him die on her now. The first he had sacrificed himself -- and now he had died yet again at Frieza's hand. (Technically the third time he's died but the first one doesn't count in her mind because she didn't care about him then). Whis had managed to protect her and some of the others -- and reverse time so Goku could finish Frieza off but the impact is still there. It's not like she's forgotten what happened.
Which is probably why she can't sleep that night. After everything that's happened, who could? She tosses and turns before finally getting out of bed. She makes her way out to the balcony of their bedroom, lighting a cigarette as she does so. Maybe that would help calm her nerves.
She can't imagine he's having any easier of a time -- seeing Frieza again couldn't have been easy. While she's glad Goku saved everyone she wishes Vegeta could have been the one to do it. He rarely talks about his past but she knows Frieza is responsible for a lot of why he is the way he is. He deserved some closure. Something.
But life doesn't always work out that way. At least Trunks was staying with Chichi and Goten for tonight (the other woman had been watching the kids while everything else was going on -- since Trunks could have been a prime target for Frieza).
She taps the ash of her cigarette against the balcony before taking another inhale. Speaking of Trunks she should really work on that time machine thing -- the older one could have been useful in all this.
